A Day in the HVAC Trenches: Life as a Mills Air Technician
Rise and Shine: The Early Bird Catches the Thermostat
As a dedicated technician at Mills Air, my day starts bright and early. The alarm clock barely has a chance to ring before I’m up and at ’em, ready to tackle whatever heating and cooling challenges await.
6:00 AM: Morning Routine
• Coffee (the lifeblood of any HVAC pro)
• Check the day’s schedule
• Load up the truck with necessary tools and parts
7:30 AM: First Call of the Day
Our commitment to 24/7 service means we’re often the first responders to climate control emergencies. Today’s first stop: a residential call about a malfunctioning furnace. As I arrive, I’m greeted by a worried homeowner, shivering in her bathrobe. Time to put those troubleshooting skills to work!
10:00 AM: Commercial Maintenance
Next up is a routine maintenance check at a local office building. Preventative care is key in our industry, and Mills Air takes pride in keeping systems running smoothly year-round. I spend a couple of hours inspecting ductwork, changing filters, and ensuring everything is in tip-top shape.
1:00 PM: Lunch Break and Team Check-In
A quick bite to eat and a virtual meeting with the team. We discuss any challenging cases and share tips. The camaraderie at Mills Air is one of the best parts of the job.
2:30 PM: Emergency Call
The dispatcher radios in – there’s an urgent call from a restaurant with a broken air conditioner. In the summer heat, this is a critical situation. I race over to save the day (and their perishables).
5:00 PM: Wrapping Up
As the day winds down, I finish up paperwork and prepare for tomorrow. But in the world of 24/7 HVAC service, you never know when the next call might come in. That’s the excitement of working at Mills Air – we’re always ready to keep our community comfortable, no matter the hour.
Being part of the Mills Air team means being committed to reliability, expertise, and round-the-clock service. It’s a challenging job, but knowing we’re keeping homes and businesses comfortable makes it all worthwhile.
