The day starts early at 6:00 AM when I check my service schedule for the day. After a quick cup of coffee, I ensure my service vehicle is fully stocked with essential parts and tools. Working at Stegall Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical means being prepared for anything.

Morning Calls

My first stop today is in Mountain Brook, where a homeowner is dealing with a malfunctioning heating system. Winter mornings in Alabama can be chilly, and ensuring families stay warm is a top priority. After diagnosing and repairing a faulty heat exchanger, I’m off to Vestavia for an HVAC maintenance call.

Midday Rush

By lunchtime, I’ve received an emergency call from Hoover – a burst pipe requiring immediate attention. This is why we maintain flexible schedules; emergencies don’t wait for convenient times. Between calls, I make sure to:

  • Update service records
  • Communicate with dispatch
  • Restock any used materials
  • Check upcoming appointments

Afternoon Schedule

The afternoon takes me to Homewood for an AC system inspection and then to Helena for a routine HVAC maintenance check. Each home presents unique challenges and opportunities to help our neighbors maintain comfortable living spaces.

Evening Wrap-up

Before heading back to base, I ensure all paperwork is complete and my vehicle is prepared for tomorrow. Being a service technician means more than just repairs – it’s about building trust with our community across Birmingham and its surrounding areas.
